Nepali Congress appoints Youth leader Biswa Prakash Sharma appointed as Spokesperson
In 1986, he was nominated the president of Mechi Multiple Campus

TYT Staff. Kathmandu, Jan, 9. Young central member of the ruling Nepali Congress (NC) party Mr. Biswa Prakash Sharma has been nominated as the spokesperson of the party today.
President of the party and Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has appointed Sharma to the post today, according to chief secretary of the NC central office, Krishna Prasad Poudel. The post has been remained vacant since the 13th general convention of the party. Earlier, Dilendra Prasad Badu had served as NC’s spokesperson.
What triggered to this appointment?
This appointment to the post has been made at a time when some NC youth leaders and other fractions of party to president have been demanding the party summon the Mahasamiti meeting to change the leadership following the party’s devastating defeat in the recently held federal parliament and provincial assembly elections. Sharma is also one of the leading young leader to fuel discourse about the party and responsibility reformation with firm political thoughts and discourse.
Sharma's political career

He got involved in politics from his early life joining NC aligned Nepal Student Union since his high school. He served as the president of Free Student Union while he was in class eight in Dhulabari School of Jhapa.
In 1986, he was nominated the president of Mechi Multiple Campus. Later he served as the general secretary of Nepal Student Union. He has been the central member of the NC before being appointed for this post. Sharma had faced defeat at the hands of leftist common candidate Ram Karki in second First-Past-The-Post elections from Jhapa-1.
